Fighting The Good Fight- Falaniko Vitale and Sid Sumida

Legendary soccer player Pele once said, “Enthusiasm is everything. It must be taut and vibrating like a guitar string.” A devout Christian who competes in a combat sport, our guest regularly uncoils with an intensity that has stunned opponents. But, there is a greater power that is his source of peace, stability and strength which he has found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Falaniko “Niko” Vitale is an American mixed martial artist. He competes in the Middleweight division. He holds notable victories over Matt Lindland, Dave Menne, Kalib Starnes, Yushin Okami and Masanori Suda. Falaniko “Niko” Vitale is an American mixed martial artist, who is a mix of Samoan, Chinese, German and Portuguese. A graduate of Waipahu High School, a former safety at the University of Hawaii, he competes in the middleweight division. He is currently signed with Shine Fights. Vitale is the former SuperBrawl Middleweight Champion, as well as an ICON Sport Middleweight title challenger. He won the X-1 Middleweight Tournament, earning himself the middleweight title. He is married to Mandy and has four children: Jasmine, Alexia, Destiny, and Aeneas. They are members of Grace Bible Church West Oahu.

Pastor Sid Sumida is the founder of Grace Bible West Oahu along with his wife Pastor Gail. A graduate of Farrington High School and University of Hawaii, he was trained in ministry under Pastors Sam and Nancy Webb. They have three children, Bethany, Christie and Joshua.
