

Ada Lum was born and raised in Honolulu and has been a member of Kalihi Union Church for the past seventy five years. After graduating from Wheaton Graduate School, she became a missionary to university students in 115 countries. Over the years, she was on staff with International Fellowship of Evangelical Students and Bible Institute of Hawaii. Additionally, she wrote many books and bible studies, such as Jesus the Disciplemaker, A Hitchhiker’s Guide to Missions, and How to Begin an Evangelistic Bible Study. She currently serves at KUC on the Adult Christian Education Committee.
Barbara Ching was born and raised on Oahu, the daughter of Thelma Furukido Ching and Chew Chong Ching. She attended Roosevelt High School and UH. After her retirement as an elementary school teacher, she took care of her elderly mother. A member of Kalihi Union Church for over 60 years, she has served in various capacities there – Sunday school teacher, Bible study leader, choir member, and as a participant in various committees. Currently she is writing her fourth Ohana Group study guide.
