Chaplain Jose Rodriguez II

About Today’s Episode:

Where else do you meet regularly with high ranking officers to listen to their needs and struggles to offer spiritual help that would impact their leadership of hundreds of thousands of soldiers? Where else do you have the opportunity and responsibility to witness and serve the painful side of the daily grind of military life? This is a small part of the magnanimous role the military chaplain. And our guest today is a Chaplain of Chaplains.

About our Guest:

Lieutenant Colonel Jose Rodriguez serves as the Deputy Garrison Chaplain for Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.  Previous assignments included serving as the Garrison Chaplain for the Presidio of Monterey, California, the Deputy Command Chaplain for the Military District of Washington (MDW), an earlier assignment as the Deputy Installation Chaplain for Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. He is highly decorated for years of service in the United States Army.

Chaplain Rodriguez holds a Bachelor of Theology degree from International Bible College in San Antonio, Texas, a Master of Divinity degree from the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico, a Master of Theology degree from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Erskine Seminary, Due West, South Carolina. In 36 years of civilian and Army ministry, he has served as Pastor for Charismatic, Baptist, Gospel, Interdenominational and Collective Protestant services. He was instrumental in establishing the first Spanish-speaking Pentecostal Church in Savannah, Georgia, and helped start an orphanage inHonduras, which houses seventy children. Chaplain Rodriguez was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and is married to the former Sandy Stadlberger from Michigan.  They have three adult sons: Justis, Marcus, and David.  They are also blessed with a wonderful Daughter-in-law (Heather) and a beautiful granddaughter (Addison).
