James Shiroma is the Lead Pastor at The Gathering. He’s responsible for teaching and visioning. He enjoys sports and UH sports. Previously, James served as senior pastor at Cornerstone Fellowship (Mililani) for nine years and also as youth pastor in Ft. Worth, Texas while in seminary. James has been a speaker at conferences, other churches and youth camps. He graduated from Hawaii Baptist Academy, University of Hawaii (BA in Journalism), and Souwestern Seminary (MDiv with Biblical Languages).
Julie is responsible for leading worship, overseeing mini-Gatherings, and connecting the nuts and bolts of The Gathering. Originally from Alexandria, Virginia (just outside of Washington D.C.), Julie enjoys urging, reading, watching TV and traveling to Turkey. Her experience includes: Youth ministry, Bible Study Fellowship, Macedonian Project, missions and mission trip leader to Turkey. She graduated from Fort Hunt High School in Virginia and Virginia Tech (BA in English). James and Julie have one daughter: Sadie.
