Do you have a mentor? Are you mentoring someone? The Oxford dictionary defines a mentor as an experienced and trusted advisor. Add to that a person empowered and led by the Holy Spirit – one who loves the Lord Jesus Christ – and you have a glimpse of Dr. George Nagato. This is especially meaningful because he’s one of my mentors – for many years (and a mentor to influential leaders in Hawaii, across the United States and around the world). We are sharing him today – as a treasure – with you.
Dr. George Nagato served as Senior Pastor of Paradise Chapel in Waianae, Hawaii where he has pastored for 34 years. He is also served as District Superintendent of the Hawaii Assemblies of God. He graduated cum laude with his bachelor of science from Bethany Bible College, a master of arts from the University of Santa Clara, and his master of arts and doctor of ministry degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary. His international ministry includes training pastors and church leaders in Japan, Kenya, and East Asia. He is married to Rose and has two grown daughters Georgine and Deyon and two grandsons.
2 Timothy 2:2 “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
