An Illustrator of Life, Laughter and Hope- Roy Chang

Pablo Picasso said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” Our guest discovered his talent as a child and refined his artistic gifts to benefit others. Georgia O’Keeffe stated, “I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.”

Roy Chang speaks ingeniously and humorously to the heart of the issues that affect society. He is an art teacher, editorial cartoonist and a freelance illustrator. He graduated from Moanalua High School, has a bachelor of fine arts degree in illustration from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and a master’s in education from the University of Hawaii-Manoa. His cartoons have appeared in UH’s Ka Leo O Hawaii, Star-Bulletin, Honolulu Weekly and MidWeek.
