How does a brick and mortar bookstore survive competition of rapidly evolving electronic commerce? When large brand name bookstores like Borders and Barnes & Noble have long since closed their doors, Logos Bookstore remains. Logos Bookstore is the largest Christian bookstore in the State of Hawaii. Carl Ashizawa is the manager of Logos Bookstore. He joins us to share the Logos Bookstor story.
Carl Ashizawa graduated from U.C. Santa Cruz with a degree in Biology before earning his Master’s degree from U.C. Berkeley’s School of Public Health in Health Administration and Planning. He served as Administrative Director of Asian Health Services in Oakland before working in hospital administration at Kaiser Hospital in Honolulu. He is the manager of Logos Bookstore of Hawaii, Inc. – a position he’s held over 35 years.
