How does it feel to be the mother of an Olympic athlete? What wisdom does the Bible give in parenting and coaching? Charlene Kahuanui Christenson is a wife, mother, educator and coach who played collegiate volleyball on a four-year athletic scholarship at UH Hilo Women’s Volleyball where they won three national championships and she earned All-American honors two years in a row. She joins us to share insights on life, marriage, parenting, coaching, and how Christ has made a difference in her life.

Charlene Kahuanui Christenson is married to Bob. They have two children Micah and Joanna and a grandson Ezekiel Kupa’a. Micah is married to Brooke—on the USA Olympic Volleyball team and a professional volleyball player in Italy. Joanna is a volleyball coach at Iolani and Kamehameha pursuing her masters in sports psychology. Charlene has taught and coached at Kamehameha Schools for thirty-five years.

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
