How about the special way relationships are formed under the common banner of a sport or team? What about this? Using a sport as a connecting point to reach more people with the message of Jesus Christ – the love, hope and purpose that can be found throughh Him. Our guest has a heart for young people. He is also dedicated to Christ and God has opened up a unique sports ministry through him.
Ben Prangnell is currently one of the associate pastor’s at Hope Chapel in Kihei. He along with a group of friends founded basketballMAUI in 2010. basketballMAUI is a youth sports non profit whose mission is to provide a hope and a future to youth through world class basketball instruction, character and leadership development. basketballMAUI had the privilege to speak to over 11,000 Maui youth in school assemblies, clinics, leadership tours and camps this past year. basketballMAUI has been honored to host many professional basketball players including Jeremy Lin the past 4 years in their outreach to Hawaii’s youth. Ben lives in Kihei with his wife Tiffany and their twin boys Luke and Zachary. Ben came to Maui in 2000 as a volunteer at Hope Chapel and has enjoyed serving in many of the ministries of the church and currently is the Friday night teaching pastor and oversees the administration of the church.
