Wherever He Leads We Will Go

How does God take a man born in Hawaii, raised, trained and ministered in Canada, only to be thrust (with his family) into years of anarchy, massacres, and upheavals in Eastern Europe? He returns to Canada, lives in the wilderness for an extended time and receives God’s call to pastor one of Hawaii’s most endeared churches. That is the incredible story of Jonathan Steeper – an example of a person who, with his wife, takes the calling of Jesus so seriously, their lives are characterized by the words, “Wherever He Leads We Will Go!”
Jonathan Steeper was born in Honolulu and grew up in Ontario, Canada. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Western Ontario, his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Acadia Divinity College. He’s pastored the St. George Baptist Church in New Brunswick, Canada. He and his wife, Patricia, and their children planted three churches as missionaries in the former communist country of Albania (during the Kosovo refugee crisis). He later pastored Highfield Baptist Church in New Brunswick, Canada. Jonathan is now the senior pastor of Kalihi Union Church, in Honolulu, Hawaii – the church his parents, the Rev. Bill and Mrs. (Libby) Steeper pastored. Jonathan and Patricia have three children: Matthew, Rebekah and Benjamin. They have also taken in numerous children through the years who have become part of their family.
