In June of 2009 Max and Erica Neves suffered the loss of their son Joshua due to complications of the H1N1 flu virus. Rage, doubt, sadness, anger, depression and loneliness were part of the gamut of emotions they felt. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote, “There is no grief like the grief that does not speak.” You may have heard the term “Joy Unspeakable” but on the other side there are moments of “Grief Unspeakable.” And God in his marvelous grace will at times use certain select people – tender hearted and yes, even broken hearted people to speak when others cannot; in order to gently administer healing and hope. Jesus has been referred to as the “Wounded Healer.” He has sent two of his very own, Max and Erica Neves to come in his name to administer the soothing balm upon those who suffer from the deepest of pain and grief.
Max and Erica have started The Joshua Neves Children’s Foundation to support bereaved Hawaii families suffering the loss of a child, and providing assistance to families with seriously ill children. Visit www.nevesfoundation.org for more information.
