What is life like growing up in the Alaskan wilderness? How does God take a scholar athlete from Wheaton College in Illinois to mentor scholar athletes, coaches and administrators at Stanford University in the ways of Christ-like living – for more than 45 years? This is the story of Jim Stump.
Jim Stump served under 13 consecutive head coaches at Stanford, including Hall of Fame inductee Bill Walsh that stemmed from his one on one prearranged meetings with 35 scholar athletes who signed up each quarter to be mentored by him one hour per week. He is the author of The Power of One-on-One: Discovering the Joy and Satisfaction of Mentoring Others. Jim lives near Dallas, Texas with his wife, Linda. They have 3 grown children and 9 grandchildren.
2 Timothy 2:2, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
