John is Vice President of the Global Ministry Division of Focus on the Family. He joined Focus in 1995, worked for two years on the Public Policy Team (part of which was helping to launch Hawaii Family Forum), and has spent the last 20 years helping families thrive worldwide in Christ. His primary responsibility is to lead the Global Ministry effort at Focus, with an emphasis on maximizing reach and impact through media and a Global Partnership of associate offices and ministry partners. In addition, John works closely with the Family Advancement team to keep our key supporters informed of Focus on the Family’s global ministry, in order to help fund both domestic and international initiatives. John also works to establish strategic international relationships within business, government, education, church and media.
John has a Master’s Degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, and undergraduate Business degrees from Baylor University in Marketing and Public Relations. He spent the majority of his early years in Hawaii, and graduated from Radford High School. Prior to working at Focus on the Family, his work experience included commercial real estate development and asset management, advertising and radio broadcasting.
John and Shelley have been married for 24 years, and they have two children, Josh and Jenna. They live in Monument, Colorado. John’s interests include: international cuisine, mountain biking, hiking, fly-fishing and hunting.
