Raised in Hawai’i, David “Waxer” Tipton, grew up waxing surfboards for his Dad and other surfers on the beaches of O’ahu (earning him the nickname “Waxer” at an early age). Waxer was raised on the town side of O’ahu near Papakolea and was immersed in Hawaiian culture and tradition. He’s pastored in churches in California (San Diego, San Clemente, Santa Barbara) and Hawai’i on the islands of Moloka’i, and O’ahu. He studied at San Diego State University and Point Loma Nazarene College. His graduate degree is from Fuller Theological Seminary; and post-graduate work was completed at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is married to Cindy and they have one mini-Lab dog named Kona. Waxer and Cindy have been an integral part of planting this new church, One Love Ministries. Waxer is also the overseer of KALO TV.
