
Toby Swanson was born and raised in Iowa and graduated from Drake Law School in Des Moines, Iowa in 1967. He served two years in the Army including a tour in Vietnam. He then returned to Iowa, where he received Christ, and practiced law about 30 years before moving to Hawaii. He worked as a trustee for a family trust in Kailua until retiring this year. He has two daughters and two grandchildren. He has written three novels, set mostly in Hawaii. He belongs to New Hope Christian Fellowship and has been on short term mission trips to India and Thailand, and is involved in the New Hope golf ministry.
