In Japan, after his wife passed away in 2006; Enoch Yamada prayed about his future.”what shall I do now Lord?” At age 57years old, God reminded Enoch of the promise that he had made to God when he was 11 years old. “That he would teach about God’s love, and about Jesus’s teachings, and to pastor his sheep” Reflecting on this promise, he felt led and sold his “Sign making” business and home in Nagoya. Then moved to Tokyo and attended the Pacific Rim Bible Institute Japan in Tokyo for two years, and came to Hawaii to complete his classes at Pacific Rim Christian College in Oahu before returning to Tokyo to graduate. It was during this time in Hawaii that he met Sharon “Kawakami”.
Currently, he attends Moanalua Missionary Church. Periodically, he shares messages at two Japanese Christian Churches. His other activities involve him serving as vice president in two Japanese organizations here in Hawaii, one where speakers share subjects of interests to Japanese speaking members, and in the other group where other Japanese members gather to learn and create Japanese poems known as “Tanka”–an ancient Japanese written form of expressing one’s most inner feelings of reflections that can touch deep into the souls of those who read it.
