John Wooden, the legendary UCLA championship coach said, “Young people need role models, not critics.” At a time of unprecedented demands dictated by the pace of society, much has been expected of young people. The shaping of tomorrow’s leaders fall on the shaping of today’s athletes. Vince Lombardi of the Green Bay Packers stated, “Life’s battles don’t often go to the stronger or faster man. But sooner or later, the man who wins is the one who thinks he can.” That is an expression of faith – getting young people to believe they can. And with God’s help, they can, whatever it is they have their heart set on. Our guest is a man who has invested his life in young people – a godly role model and one who speaks hope and destiny into the hearts of young people.
