John Andrew Holes stated, “Never tell a young person that something cannot be done. God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that thing.” Our guest today is one of those daring people, who started early on in life, who have radically chosen to live his life sold out to Golife is life can be described as passionate for God’s word and love for people Christ died to save. Neil Cole said, “If you want to win this world to Christ, you are going to have to sit in the smoking section.” In studio we have a man of God who is not afraid to sit in the smoking section if it’ll bring one more person to Jesus!
Raised in Hawai’i, David “Waxer” Tipton, a “local haole boy” grew up waxing surfboards for his Dad and other surfers on the beaches of O’ahu (earning him the nickname “Waxer” at an early age). Waxer was raised on the town side of O’ahu near Papakolea, Waxer was immersed in Hawaiian culture and tradition. Waxer has pastored in churches in California in San Diego, San Clemente, Santa Barbara; and in Hawai’i on the islands of Moloka’i, and O’ahu. Waxer’s passion is exegetical teaching of the word of God, and it’s practical application in evangelism and apologetics. He believes the Word of God should be educational, comforting, convicting, and fun. Waxer completed his formal education through undergraduate studies at San Diego State University (SDSU) and Point Loma Nazarene College (PLNC); his graduate degree at Fuller Theological Seminary; and post graduate work at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is married to Cindy and they have two dogs: Hayden and Mango. Since moving back to O’ahu in August of 2004, Waxer and Cindy have been an integral part of planting the church, One Love Ministries; faithfully relying on the Lord’s wisdom, purpose and direction for their life. Waxer is also the overseer of KALO TV.
