One of the greatest challenges in the life of a local church is the that of transitioning pastoral leadership. How much time does a transition take? What are the pitfalls? How do you avoid them? In what ways do changes occur in the process of transition? Today, Brandon Ahu and his father Elwin Ahu join us to share their journey in the pastoral leadership transition at Metro Christian Church.
Brandon Ahu is the Lead Pastor at Metro Christian Church in Honolulu, Hawaii. An alumnus of Kamehameha, USC, and Fuller Seminary he is a firm believer in the next generation’s potential to rise up and make a Kingdom difference in the world today. Brandon and his wife Kara are proud parents of two children. Elwin Ahu is the Founding Pastor of Metro Christian Church. In 1995, a decision to accept Jesus Christ into his heart lead him to step down from a promising judicial career to answer God’s call to full-time ministry. He is a cancer survivor and author of Resilient Hope: Encountering the Unexpected. Elwin and Joy cherish their time with family: Brandon, Kara, and Jared, and grandchildren, Alana and Hokua.
Scripture: Proverbs 16:3 – “Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established.”
