How does it feel to save someone’s life? When most people retire, Yasuko Shiraishi was reignited with a passion for using her nursing expertise on the mission field. Yasuko studied at the University of Hawaii and Queen’s Hospital School of Nursing. She served 4 years as a nurse in New York at Roosevelt Hospital in mid-town Manhattan before returning to Hawaii as a nurse for 40 years.

Yasuko Shiraishi was the Evening Supervisor and Administrative Coordinator at Queen’s Medical Center. She has been a member of Kalihi Union Church and involved in short-term missions in Kenya (2), Uganda (2), Brazil (3), Thailand (2), China (1) and Japan. She has one son, Myles. She has been a member of Kalihi Union Church for 66 years. She’s led in the Women’s Fellowship and the Joy Fellowship ministries.

Job 12:12 “Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?”
