Ephesians 6:12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” James Hudson Taylor stated, “Do not have your concert first, and then tune your instrument afterwards. Begin the day with the Word of God and prayer, and get first of all into harmony with Him.”
Rick Astle has devoted his ministry to helping enlarge the kingdom of God by equipping the local church to think, pray and minister “outside the walls.” The Lord has used him time and again to help church members who used to be merely “concerned” about lost people to pray for and become “burdened” for the lost. He is the President of Rick Astle Ministries and the author of three books. With over thirty years of experience as a Southern Baptist Pastor, church staff associate or Director of Missions, Rick is a time-tested authority on strengthening and maturing the local church. A highly sought after speaker on the subjects of prayer and spiritual awakening, Rick’s teaching ministry has carried him to numerous churches in over 30 states. Born and raised in Oklahoma, Rick was saved as a high school student when his parents moved to Louisville, Kentucky. He is a graduate of The University of Kentucky and of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2007, Rick and his wife moved to the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They have one son: John.
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” Ephesians 4:29
