As Chairman of Group 70, Francis Oda is respected as a visionary designer, recognized nationally and internationally with over 37 design awards for his work in architecture and planning. His projects, locally and abroad, are designed with uncompromising sensitivity to the land, culture, and people that it serves. Trained at Cornell University, Dr. Oda received his Doctor of Architecture degree from the University of Hawai‘i, is a certified Planner (AICP) a member of the distinguished Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA), and a LEED Accredited Professional. He is also the senior pastor of New Life Church in Honolulu. He is married to Caroline and has two children, Reid and Nalani.
