How does God take a man who perfected moves on the gritty division one college wrestling mat to skillfully position himself in the realm of Artificial Intelligence, monetizing a start-up, and creating a scholarship for high school athletes, all at the age of 24, while being an officer in the Army? This is the story of Ryan Hetrick. As in Psalm 78:72, Ryan is leading others “with skillful hands.”
Ryan Hetrick is a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Technology and Public Policy program. His work is in the Artificial Intelligence Policy space, and he is researching how the United States can continue to innovate and lead in the field of AI while doing it in an ethical way.
Ryan graduated from West Point in May of 2021 and is currently a Second Lieutenant in the Army in the Cyber branch. At West Point, Ryan wrestled all four years and was a captain of the wrestling team his senior year. He is from Bemus Point, New York, just south of Buffalo.
Scripture: Proverbs 22:29 (NKJV) – “Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.”
