Why would a 67 year old clean-cut pastor who planted and served at a church for nearly 40 years – growing to over 6000 – suddenly hand the reigns over to a 36 year old jazz musician with a beard and dreadlocks? Did I mention that after the transition the church doubled in size? This is the story of Dr. Bill Ritchie the founding pastor of Crossroad Community Church – a story of Christ-led transformation.
Dr. Bill Ritchie founded Crossroads Community Church in Vancouver, Washington in 1975. He graduated from Willamette University with a degree in psychology, earned his doctorate in religion from the School of Theology at Claremont, and studied in Switzerland. His radio ministry is on over 400 stations and he has authored 3 books. Dr. Ritchie is married to Betty (over 53 years). They have 3 children.
