
What does hockey and church plating in Russia, sports at the University of Texas, athletes in South Africa and Central Asia have to do with a collegiate football and baseball player in the Pacific Northwest? This is the story of Darin McFarland whose journey with Jesus has led him and his family to far corners of the globe; now impacting athletes at Harvard, MIT, Boston College, Boston University, and nearby schools.
Darin McFarland has thirty-three years of experience in campus and sports ministry with CRU. He is Director of Athletes in Action in the Boston Metro Area overseeing ministry in eight schools: Harvard, MIT, Boston College, Boston University, Merrimack, Gordon, Bentley, and Babson. He graduated from Willamette University where he played baseball and football and Dallas Theological Seminary where he earned his ThM in New Testament Greek. Darin, who is fluent in Russian, is married to Susan (over thirty-one years). They have five children: Alex, Chris, Abbey, Nick, and David.
