Helena Vigil was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She graduated from Moanalua High School in and earned her B.A. in Preschool/Family Life Services from Northern Michigan University. She is currently a stay at home mom with one girl, 4 years old and twin boys (2 years of age). She grew up with both Catholic and Protestant backgrounds, but during high school and her college years, she felt as though her relationship with God weaken while doing things “her way.” In 2002, she returned from college and was lost. She started going back to church with her cousin at New Hope Oahu.
Helena later met her husband John Vigil in Hawaii, who was and is currently serving in the military. The two married in April of 2006. However, in May 2011, their marriage hit a rocky point, in which they were both forced to rely on God for his direction. Through various Bible study groups, deployments, and dependency on the Lord, their marriage survived the rough waters.
John Vigil was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was raised Catholic and still considers himself Catholic, but more proactive with his walk with God. He always wanted to serve in the military and defend his country, and feels that God put him on this earth for that purpose. He joined the navy right after 9/11 at the age of 18. He was and is so proud to be protecting his country. He and Helena are blessed to live in Hawaii with their three beautiful children, Malia, JJ, and Joey.
Matthew 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
