Ryan Kalei Tsuji is a morning anchor/reporter for KITV News This Morning. Born and raised in Hilo, Ryan is a graduate of Waiakea High School on the Big Island. After high school, he attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he got his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and communications. Ryan later went on to obtain a masters degree in public administration. While at UH, Ryan worked as the student manager and, eventually, an assistant coach for the University of Hawaii Wahine Volleyball team under Coach Dave Shoji. Ryan has also worked in the Hawaii State Legislature in both the Hawaii House and Senate. While in the House he worked in the majority communications office and in the Senate in the Health and Ways and Means committees. In 2010, he began his broadcasting career as a color commentator with K5 the home team for UH volleyball matches. In the fall of 2011, Ryan joined the OC16 Sports team in its inaugural season covering UH sporting events. In January of 2012, he officially joined the KITV ohana by delivering the news as an anchor and reporter on KITV’s morning newscast. Ryan lives in Honolulu and enjoys playing and coaching volleyball as well as hanging out with friends, watching movies, traveling, and playing beach volleyball.
