At the age of 18, one month after graduating High School, U’ilani learned she was pregnant. All her hopes and plans that she had for her future seemed to come to a halt, as she realized that she had to temporarily give all that up to raise her child. The child’s father was her first experience of being in an abusive relationship. Sadly, it would not be her last.
As time went by, U’ilani became involved in the modeling/bikini contests/nightclubbing/party scene. Even though she had a strong love for Jesus, it was during those years she pulled away from God and wanted to do things her way. Those years were a blur of being in the spotlight, craving the attention that was so easily given when you are in that world. She found herself looking for love and acceptance from things of the world and trying to validate herself through relationships and men. Sadly, she found herself in another abusive relationship. This one almost turned out to be deadly.
It was in the midst of this time in her life she was introduced to a Christian based counselor, Memrey Casey…her life made a turn for the better. It was through Memrey that she was able to identify her childhood issues of neglect and abandonment, which was the root of all her choices in life. Realizing that she was trying to fill the void in her Heart that could ONLY be filled though the love of her Heavenly Father. U’ilani was able to learn what is was to truly love herself again, the way her Heavenly Father meant her to be loved. When she began to truly accept Jesus’ love for her, and learn to love herself, Blessings fell in abundance in her life.
3 years ago God Blessed U’ilani with a wonderful man who was to become her husband. A God- fearing, Heart after God, Kind, Loving, and Generous man. He had brought her Boaz to her….All in His Perfect Timing! Her mission in life is to help other women who are in the same situation she once was in. Helping them to realize that the love of their Heavenly Father can Restore what was once broken and make it into a Blessing beyond measure!
