Author and motivational speaker John C. Maxwell wrote, “The great men and women of history were not great because of what they earned or owned. They were great because they gave themselves to people and causes that lived beyond them.”

Our guests today give themselves by sharing the story of their lives with others. Today’s program features a man who was sexually molested as a child and grew up with anger, guilt, fear and shame. Through the ministry of his pastor and the fellowship of his church family, he experienced the love and healing he has longed for – all centered on the grace and power of Jesus Christ. That’s not all. In the last year, he lost over 130 pounds. His transformation continues.

Dave Barr is the senior pastor of New Hope Windward. Alonzo Charles is an educational assistant of a charter school in Hawaii.

  • How has the Lord helped you through tough times?
  • How did you lose over 130 pounds?
  • Why does God allow us to go through struggles?
  • What would you say to someone who’s going through a difficult time right now?

John 15:8 Jesus said, “This to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
