Caring for Children, Enriching Families
Dr. Steven Yano, M.D.

American evangelist D.L. Moody said, “If I could relive my life, I would devote my entire ministry to reaching children for God.” Lady Bird Johnson, former U.S. first lady stated, “Children are likely to live up to what you believe of them.” An observant commentator interestingly noted, “Children are great imitators, so give them something great to imitate. Our guest today touches children with God’s love on a daily basis. He also conveys ever so positively how much he believes in them and their parents. A role model to all of us, indeed. How does he do it? More importantly, why does he do it? You’ll hear from him.

Dr. Steven Yano graduated from St. Louis School, earned his Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Hawaii and became a medical doctor after graduating from John A. Burns School of Medicine, at the University of Hawaii. He did 2 years of Pediatric residency at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, completed Pediatric training at UCLA Harbor General in Los Angeles. He returned to Hawaii to practice in private practice at Children’s Medical Associates in Aiea since 1982. He’s married to Gayle and they have three daughters: Taryn, Robyn and Kacie. They are members of New Hope Oahu.

“And when Jesus went out he saw a great multitude; and he was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.” Matthew 14:14
